1. Gynecological ultrasonography: around the third day of menstruation
Under the b-mode ultrasound, you can see a lot of small follicles in the ovaries. These follicles are the "small houses" of the eggs, which are medically called "sinus follicles". The amount of sinus follicle can reflect the quantity of "inventory" very well. However, due to the subjectivity and experience of ultrasound, as well as the differences between different doctors' techniques, there may be some differences in the evaluation results.
2. Basic sex hormones: the best test time is the 2rd-5th day of menstruation
Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and estrogen (E2) are indicators of ovarian age. When FSH>40 IU/L, it indicates that ovarian function has been exhausted, that is, there is almost no inventory. When FSH>10 IU/L or FSH/LH>2-3.6, the ovarian reserve function is often decreased. Or both are normal, and E2>80pg/ml suggests that the ovaries are beginning to enter an early stage of decline.
3. AMH: can be detected at any time
The reference values vary from age to age. Generally speaking, the reference value of 18-29 year old AMH is 2.0-2.5ng/ml. At 29-37 years old, it is about 2.0ng/ml, lower than 37 years old, and AMH will not be detected after menopause. At present, studies at home and abroad have shown that AMH< (0.5-1.1) ng/ml often indicates ovarian dysfunction, while AMH>11.8ng/ml may be related to polycystic ovaries.
